# Looking for a Muslim Pro Alternative? A Kind, Honest Guide

> Muslim Pro does a lot well. If you want something calmer, ad-free and free in full, here's why we built Salah Flow, plus other fair alternatives.

If you've searched for a "Muslim Pro alternative", you're probably not angry at anyone. More likely you've found that the app you've used for years doesn't quite fit what you need right now, and you'd like to see what else is out there. That is a perfectly good reason to look.

One thing up front: we make one of the apps in this list. Salah Flow is a free, ad-free prayer tracker for iPhone and iPad, built by a husband-and-wife team of reverts. We're not neutral: we built it because we wanted the alternative ourselves, and we think it's the best one if your aim is to keep your salah. We've still been careful and fair about everyone else. Everything we say about other apps comes from their own websites and store pages as of October 2026, and we've left out anything we couldn't confirm.

## What Muslim Pro does well

Muslim Pro has earned its place. Its own site says it has been going since 2010 and has been downloaded more than 190 million times, in over 190 countries. That is a huge number of people who have found it useful, and it shows.

It is also remarkably complete. According to its App Store page, it offers prayer times and Athan notifications from your location, a Qibla finder, the full Qur'an with audio and translations, duas and dhikr, a tasbih counter, an Islamic calendar, a prayer and fasting tracker with streaks, Ramadan suhoor and iftar times, and a moderated community space. If you want one app that does nearly everything a Muslim might reach for in a day, it is a strong choice, and the core features are free.

## Why people look for something else

None of these is a criticism. They are simply the trade-offs of a very large app.

**Adverts.** Muslim Pro says plainly that its free version is supported by advertisements, and that Premium removes them. Some people are happy with that; others would rather have no ads in the app they open before salah.

**A subscription for the extras.** Premium also adds offline Qur'an, more reciters, themes and widgets. On the US App Store the listing shows $12.99 a month or $34.99 a year, with prices varying by country. That's a fair way to fund an app, but if you'd rather not subscribe, you may want to look elsewhere.

**Wanting something simpler.** When an app does a great deal, the part you care about can feel small. If what you want is mainly to log your prayers and see your consistency, a focused tracker can feel calmer than a full companion.

**Different needs.** Some people want a particular calculation method, an Apple Watch app, an accessible design, or support for a specific phone. It's worth checking each of these on an app's own page.

## A few honest alternatives

### Salah Flow (ours, and why we think it's the best fit)

[Salah Flow](https://salahflow.com/app) is the calm, focused alternative. Where Muslim Pro does everything, Salah Flow does one thing, helping you keep your five daily prayers, and we've spent our time making that one thing beautiful.

- **Free in full, with no ads.** No premium tier, no subscription, nothing locked. Donations are optional and change nothing in the app.
- **See your salah grow.** Mark each prayer as on time, late, in jama'ah or during menstruation, and watch a heatmap calendar fill in, by month, quarter or the whole year, in the Hijri calendar too. Trends for each week, month and year, and a streak for each prayer, show how far you've come.
- **Widgets that save you a step.** Mark a prayer straight from your Home Screen, and see the next one on your Lock Screen.
- **The menstruation mode we're proudest of.** Switch it on once and the prayers that come due are marked as excused for you. Your streaks carry on, because an excused prayer isn't a missed one. We think it's the most thoughtful menstruation mode in any prayer app.
- **A design made to calm you before you pray.** Dyslexia-friendly fonts and layouts, a colour-blind-safe palette, light, dark or automatic (dark from Maghrib to sunrise), and nothing on screen that doesn't need to be there.
- **No account, works offline.** Your prayers are stored on your phone. An account (Apple ID or email) is optional and only syncs your prayers across your devices, and your data is never used for advertising, sold or shared.
- **Everything you need around the prayer:** prayer times for your school of thought (adjustable by hand to match your mosque), a Qibla compass, and adhan alerts with adhans from Madinah, Al-Aqsa, Cairo, Bosnia and more.

**Worth knowing:** it's on iPhone and iPad only, and it's a tracker, not a Qur'an, duas or learning app, so some people keep a companion app alongside it. It records prayers prayed late but has no missed-prayer counter.

### Other alternatives worth a look

#### Pillars

[Pillars](https://www.thepillarsapp.com) describes itself as ad-free and privacy-focused, and says its prayer times and Qibla are calculated on your phone, with no account needed. It has a prayer tracker where you can mark prayers as done on time or made up later, a fasting tracker, a menstruation switch, widgets and a Qibla compass. You can choose your calculation method and Asr time. The core is free; an optional Premium subscription adds extras such as the Apple Watch app. Its own site lists iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android.

**Strengths:** ad-free, privacy-minded, and it is on Android as well as iPhone. **Worth knowing:** some extras are Premium.

#### Athan, by IslamicFinder

[Athan](https://www.islamicfinder.org/athan/) is the closest in spirit to Muslim Pro: prayer times with an azan alarm, a Qur'an with translations, duas and athkar, a Qibla finder, a tasbih counter, daily goals and streaks, a PrayerBook for logging prayers, and a menstrual mode. It is free with in-app purchases; ad-free use is part of its paid Athan Pro subscription.

**Strengths:** a broad feature set and a prayer log, much like the one you may already know. **Worth knowing:** like Muslim Pro, ad-free means paying.

#### Revertly

[Revertly](https://www.getrevertly.app) is different: it is built for people who are new to praying, with a seven-day path from wudu to a full prayer, Arabic, transliteration, meaning and audio for each step. It also has prayer times, a Qibla compass and a simple tracker. Its App Store page lists a membership that unlocks everything, and says it collects no data and shows no ads.

**Strengths:** gentle and thorough for beginners. **Worth knowing:** iPhone only, and it is a membership app. It isn't trying to be a full Qur'an companion.

## You don't have to choose just one

It is perfectly normal to use more than one app. Some people keep Muslim Pro or another companion for the Qur'an and duas, and use Salah Flow for their daily prayers. Others move completely and never look back. Try one for a week, see how it feels when you open it before Fajr, and keep what helps.

Whatever you choose, the app is only a helper. What matters is the prayer.
